Elizabeth Palmer Barr, L.M.T#780, is a N.C. state licensed massage therapist, a member of American Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and a certified yoga teacher.  Elizabeth received her massage certification at Crestone Healing Arts Center in Colorado in 1998 and that April,  joined the staff of the Graystone Spa in Roaring Gap, N.C..  She currently heads the massage department at Graystone Spa.  She incorporates

to offer her clients stress relief, relaxation, pain management, injury rehabilitation and overall well being.

In 2000, Elizabeth became certified as a yoga teacher, completing a 400 hour teacher training with Todd Norian in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts.  She continues to expand her education, studying with many esteemed teachers such as Tim Miller, David Williams, Desiree Rumbaugh, and Seane Corn.  A devoted student in the ashtanga tradition, Elizabeth travels regularly around the country to study and deepen her practice and her teaching.    She teaches an ashtanga improv class on  Monday night at Arts of Yoga in downtown Winston Salem, located on 633 N. Trade Street(www.yogagallery.com).

Prior to her work in the healing arts profession, Elizabeth received her B.F.A in Music/Theatre  from Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, became affiliated with Actor's Equity Association, working  professionally for several years after graduation.  But the footlights were dim compared to the night stars in the mountains of North Carolina, and in the early 90's , she built a small cabin near Stone Mountain State Park.
      In addition to her work as a massage therapist, Elizabeth  served as music director for Christ Church Episcopal in Sparta,  is on the board of the Foothills Arts Council in Elkin, and enjoys performing locally in community theatre.
